The Tawa
Measuring 12.25in x 12.25in / 31cm x 31cm, here comes the fourth in a series of five pieces of history: unbelievable Peruvian textiles from the Chancay and Chimu people woven approximately between 900-1470 AD. These handwoven fragments come from a history wherein these textiles were extremely valuable and useful. This is an exceptional piece of history that I can’t quite believe I get to steward to their forever homes. I sourced these from a renowned late Swedish archeologist’s personal collection.
These are pre-Inca pieces. Gold framed behind glass on linen. Each of the five pieces in named after the Quechuan words for 1-5.
Keep out of direct sunlight and gently dust with a soft cloth.
Please note this item is final sale.
