The Geometry, 1961
A striking midcentury abstract built from weighty blocks of charcoal, powder blue, tobacco brown and muted ochre. The composition has a wonderfully architectural quality, with softened geometric forms stacked and balanced against one another, punctuated by two small, almost celestial circular marks. Layers of worked paint give the otherwise restrained palette real depth and texture. Quiet but commanding, the sort of abstraction that anchors a room without shouting for attention. Signed lower left, as well as on verso -61, and presented in its original dark wood frame.
Keep out of direct sunlight and gently dust with a soft cloth.
