A small atmospheric landscape study, worked in pastel with a wonderfully restrained palette of chalky blues, mossy greens and warm brown. Tall tree trunks rise through a rocky, snow-covered landscape, reduced to strong, almost abstract shapes while still retaining a real sense of place. The softness of the pastel gives the scene a lovely hazy quality, while the original simple wooden frame and aged mount add to its quiet charm. A modest little piece with a surprising amount of presence.
Keep out of direct sunlight and gently dust with a soft cloth.
